Changing the Way Men Think About Skin Care
Interview with Jen Yu and Alex Penfold, Co-Founders of Jaxon Lane
[New Compounders Podcast] One of the best aspects of hosting my own podcast is having the ability to interview my friends who are doing really interesting things. I have known Jen Yu and Alex Penfold, the husband and wife Co-Founders of Jaxon Lane, for many years. They started with the simple premise that the male skin care products on the market were not serving the needs of potential customers. So, they started Jaxon Lane to help change the way men think about skin care and their daily routines.
In this fun episode, we discussed:
· The founding idea and story of Jaxon Lane;
· How Jen and Alex figured out how to navigate a brand new industry;
· The differentiation that comes from focusing on male skin care products;
· Their strategy for growing both e-commerce and brick and mortar sales; and
· Their approach to new product innovation.
Please enjoy the episode here:
In the very crowded and lucrative skin care market, it is hard for a new entrant to differentiate itself. But Jen and Alex have been able to gain traction and distribution within the men's skin care world pretty quickly. So, I asked them about how they have gone about trying to differentiate the brand. As Alex highlights in this clip, it starts with an intense focus on their target customers' needs and experience.
I hope you enjoyed this week’s discussion and will stay tuned for yet another valuable interview that will be released next week.
Thanks for following Compounders,
